Tab Through All Controls on a Mac

For years I thought the Mac OS did not support "tabbing" to move focus on controls, ie: ok or cancel buttons for menus, pop-ups, and windows. Well...it does!, and it's just not enabled by default.  You can change the default settings to have "tabbing" work on all controls by just invoking the keyboard shortcut for this setting, which is: control + F7 (if you're using a desktop keyboard you will need to press the function key for the F7 key, otherwise you will click iTunes controls. So: control +fn+F7 for full keyboards).  Or you can click on System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.  At the very bottom you will notice an option to change this to All controls (see screenshots).  Happy Tabbing!!!!

A Sneak Peek of Android 3.0, Honeycomb

from cryptoz via hacker news:

I am so excited for the future. It's so clear to me that tablets are a stepping stone, and a very very exciting one. They're going to be the first time a consumer computer has lived up to their dreams and expectations of the future of computing: it works, it's fast, it's easy, it's safe and it's fun. Using Windows on a desktop is none of those things. It turns out that iPad was a glorious thing; not in that it was physically incredible, but that it opened up a world that Google understands and is preparing for. We're going to have Android and iOS running HTML5 applications (and native apps of course) on nearly every device in just a few years.

Guys, that promised future is coming!

iTunes 10 Revised - a better icon

Screen_shot_2010-10-08_at_7

So, I agree completely with Mattias Ekstrom & Alex Layne  regarding iTunes 10 new look, and icon.  Taking the CD from the icon makes sense, but the new look (roundedness) reminds me of Windows Media Player icon.  Alex wrote a nice post about iTunes 10 and the changes, he also offered some hacks/tips.  The icon that Mattias has made is much better.

Edit: if you need a .Rar extract for mac, look no futher: http://www.unrarx.com/

Steps:
  1. Open your Applications folder in Finder.
  2. Right click iTunes and select Show Package Contents.
  3. Go to Content -> Resources and replace the iTunes.icns with a new one.
